Who are we?

tagVirudhunagar Tholandi Group of Companies based out of historic and business centric town of Virudhunagar,South India. We are Specialized into educating and re introducing the traditional cooking and recreating the forgotten recipes and introduce them to future generations.

We have a great passion for cooking. We have been trying to keep the traditional recipes alive by sharing with our near and dear. We believe that the easy way to enter into someone's heart is through their stomach. We have recreated and mastered over 400+ recipes and recorded them for the future generation.

We blindy believe the assumed diet plans like Paleo Diet, but failed to follow our tested and tried healthy grand parents recipes which are tailored for our family. Our Grand parent's recipes were based on the locally avaiable products and they suit us well for our body.

We even donot know how to eat. Those days our parents used to teach us how to enjoy every item. Especially how to eat those healthy bone marrows by teaching us easy way to break the bones, removing the fish bones etc., We just eat rhe flesh and throw away the bone. We avoid eating the fats and we lost the taste and we say food is not tasting like it used to be during my childhood days and convince ourselves. Actually we donot follow our grand parents cooking processes, which is the reason for losing the taste.

Why Virudhunagar Samayal?

tagVirudhunagar Samayal - Virudhunagar is a glorious historic and business town in the state of tamilnadu located at the narrow southern tip of India. It is blessed with some of the most mouth-watering and flavoursome cuisines. Virudhunagar cuisine boasts of unique cooking methods and spices. These have been backed with family recipes, ancient culture and traditions, community history with less of external influences.

Virudhunagar Cuisines that have made their special place in the hearts of the people and have travelled far and wide to capture many more hearts are Virudhunagar Oil Parorra, Mutton Sukka Varuval, Chicken Chops, Pura Chops. Kola Urundai and Muttai Vazhiyal to name a few. There are few vegetables which are specific to Virudhunagar area like Athalakkai, Mullikkai, Aval Kaalan etc.,. Our recipes are tested and tasted over five generations and we retained the traditional value and methods.

Virudhunagar Samayal cuisine is not as rich as Moghul Cuisine and not as complex as Chettinad Cuisine. Its vey simple recipie with few but healthy incredients which are available in the kitchen and not using any of the strong flavour spices. We have worked on these recipes for the last 25 Years. The masalas are freshly prepared instantly which are perfected and fine tuned over four generations. We have documented more than 500 traditional Virudhunagar recipes by recreating and tasting them to perfect the recipes.
